Cosmic Call
This piece was inspired from a statue that sits upon a hill in Potter, Nebraska. I came across it while scrolling through social media, and it instantly made me stop and look.
What I love most about this one is how bold the imagery and colors are. On screen doesn’t do it justice in my opinion.
Each piece I create, I like to write up something to accompany it. I believe this helps the viewer see it through the artist’s eyes. Here is what I wrote for this piece:
A tribute to contrast and connection, Cosmic Call speaks to the balance between life and death, stillness and sound, earth and beyond. Coyotes are a familiar presence on the prairies of Western Nebraska.
In this piece, they stand as both messengers and reminders. When mirrored, their forms become something deeper. The upright represents life, the inverted takes the shape of a skull, symbolizing death. Together, they echo a universal truth: everything is connected.
This piece invites the viewer to pause. To sit in the balance between what is and what could be. A Cosmic Call, not to one side or the other, but to a life fully lived.
This piece won 2nd Place Fine Art at the Prairie Art Guild Art Show in Harrison, NE in 2026.
